Wow, Meta has added another new feature to Instagram — and it looks like they got the idea from TikTok again.

Recently, Instagram head Adam Mosseri shared that the app will now have a “Watch History” feature. This means you’ll be able to see and find the videos you’ve already watched on Instagram more easily.

In the newest Instagram update, there’s now a “Watch History” section that shows small preview images (thumbnails) of all the videos you’ve watched in the last 30 days.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to share a video with someone but couldn’t remember who posted it, you can now easily scroll through your watch history to find it again.

According to Adam Mosseri, this update is designed to make it simpler for users to revisit and rediscover the content they’ve already watched.

In the latest Instagram update, users will find a new “Watch History” option tucked away under Profile → Settings → Your Activity. This feature lets you view all the Reels you’ve watched recently. You can sort them from newest to oldest (or the other way around), search by a specific date or date range, and even filter by the account that posted the video.

That said, it doesn’t actually show every Reel you’ve ever watched — it’s limited to the past 30 days. Still, it’s a practical addition. If you ever come across a video that catches your attention and later wish you’d saved it, you’ll now have an easy way to find it again.

TikTok already offers a similar feature, and many users find it genuinely useful — especially for those moments when you skip a video only to remember it later, or when you want to revisit a product ad or funny clip you forgot to save.

So while it’s a small update, it’s definitely a smart one. The new Watch History feature is being rolled out with the most recent version of the Instagram app, helping users quickly retrace their viewing steps without the frustration of endless searching.
